If you are studying Early Childhood Education and Care, chances are you are going to need to know how to put a baby to sleep. Kirana offers a CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and a CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Amongst our many student resources available to all who study with us, are video tutorials including this one on how to put a baby to sleep:

This video tutorial is prepared by Karen McMaster, our Early Childhood Education and Care trainer/assessor. In the video, she demonstrates ways to safely put a baby to sleep, according to Australian Government guidelines. This is one of the techniques you will learn in the classroom if you undertake either Certificate III or the Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

The video goes through a number of different guidelines to follow when safely putting a baby to sleep. This includes the primary conditions such as the equipment (cots) that you purchase, the position of the equipment, the position of the sheets and the mattress used. Karen McMaster then visually demonstrates, with the aid of a baby doll, how to put the baby to bed safely.

The children’s services sector is one of the most fulfilling career paths you can take, where you’re not only going to be sought after by employers but changing the lives of children you care for. There is a high demand for child care workers and with one of Kirana’s qualifications, you can enter a fulfilling career that will reward you every day.
