Course Requirements
To attain the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services, 16 units must be successfully completed comprising of eight (8) core and eight (8) elective units over three (3) terms.
Electives have been grouped into the following 5 streams and 1 specialisation based on the individual’s learning requirements:
- Generalist stream – Classroom Based
- Alcohol and other drugs stream – Online Only
- Disability stream – Online Only
- Mental health stream – Online Only
- Child and Youth stream – Online Only
- Case Management Specialisation – Online Only
Qualification Pathway
Credit decisions for university entry are made by individual universities, but many universities offer a credit arrangement.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent.

Kirana Colleges student selection process is designed to ensure that you are enrolled in the qualification that best meets your needs.
Kirana Colleges selection criteria will take into account various factors when deciding upon which students will be offered places in the program including:
- The students’ needs and desired outcomes
- The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course
- Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package
- Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)
Students not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.

Work Placement
To be assessed as competent in this qualification, students are required to complete 100-120 hours of supervised work placement with an approved community services work place. The exact number of hours required is determined by the stream or specialisation chosen. Evidence provided by the supervisor will contribute to assessment of the student’s ability to work at this level.
ACT Skilled Capital – for students residing in ACT
This qualification can be funded to eligible students through ACT Skilled Capital, a subsidised training program offered by the ACT Government. Skilled Capital funding is available through Kirana Colleges Registered Training Organisations Collaboration Learning Pty Ltd RTO ID 52247.
