If you live in the ACT and are looking to take up some studies, you’re in luck! The ACT offers Skilled Capital courses that are funded by the ACT Government. Skilled Capital is the ACT Government’s initiative to provide a limited number of funded spots for students wanting to undertake a nationally recognised qualification to improve on their employment outcomes. You can further your career and build a better future with Skilled Capital funded courses. Furthermore, students who successfully complete a course through the Skilled Capital program are eligible for a completion bonus!

If you are an eligible participant, Kirana offers the following qualifications that are delivered under the Skilled Capital funding program:

BSB20115 Certificate II in Business

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for the roles of individuals in a variety of junior administrative positions who perform a range of office tasks using basic practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge. This is the perfect course for you if you are motivated to upgrade your skills to a higher level or gain formal recognition of your existing skills. On completion of this course, you can pursue a career as an administrative assistant, clerical officer, legal receptionist, office assistant and more.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $100 and concessional students only $50. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This qualification is ideal for individuals wanting to work in child care or wanting to be qualified, who have a passion for children and their development.  You will learn to provide care to children, plan activities, organise their play and leisure, and allow them to achieve their developmental milestones. On completion of this course, you can pursue a career as a nanny, early childhood educator, playgroup supervisor and more.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $100 and concessional students only $50. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for the roles of workers who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who require support due to ageing.

Work involves some using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person centred support.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $100 and concessional students only $50. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for the roles of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to disability.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

This course is appropriate for workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to disability.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $100 and concessional students only $50. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community)

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for individuals wanting to provide a personalised approach to caring for people who are ageing, have a disability or other reasons.

Working in this field requires the use of some discretion and judgement while providing individual support as well as taking responsibility for their own outputs. After completing this course students will gain a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide a personalised approach to support.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $100 and concessional students only $50. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for the roles of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $300 and concessional students only $150. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for the roles of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well-being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $220 and concessional students only $110. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services

Passionate about helping people and working in the community? Come join one of the fastest growing sectors in Australia by completing the new CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services.

This qualification suits individuals who want to develop their skills and knowledge in managing, coordinating and/or delivering person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $320 and concessional students only $160. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This qualification covers workers in children’s services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. On completion of this course, you can pursue a career as a childhood education manager, director, program leader and more.

Under the Skilled Capital funding initiative, this course will cost non-concessional students $320 and concessional students only $160. Plus, on completion of this course, you will be entitled to a completion bonus of $500!

Are you eligible?

You can be eligible for the Skilled Capital funding initiative if you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand passport holder resident for more than six (6) months, a visa holder with work rights to engage in work in Australia, living or working in the ACT, at least 15 years of age, and not enrolled in or attending secondary school or college.

To undertake a Certificate II level qualification, you also must not have completed a Certificate III or higher (excluding foundation skills qualifications), not have been awarded an ACT Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent), not have achieved a C grade average or higher in Year 12, or suffered changed circumstances which impacts your ability to undertake training and/or work such as ill health or similar.

Students with an Exemption Certificate are not eligible for Skilled Capital. Students who are undertaking year 10 or year 12 equivalent study in an alternative program are eligible provided they satisfy the remaining eligibility criteria.
