This qualification reflects the role of community services workers involved in the delivery, management and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities. You will support people to make change in their lives to improve personal and social wellbeing and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers. You may also undertake case management and program coordination. With an expected growth of 25.2% by 2026, this industry is seeing rapid expansion providing a wealth of opportunities.

Course Description

Course Requirement

There are in total 20 units to complete for the Diploma of Community Services.

Students must undertake a minimum of 200 logged working hours within an Approved Service which will allow you to complete a range of applicable work tasks.

Entry Requirements

There are no education entry requirements for the CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services. Students must be above the age of 17 to enrol and 18 years of age to complete work placement to complete this qualification. Students under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardians’ permission to enrol.

Students will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate prior to commencing work.

Student Selection Process

Kirana’s student selection process is designed to ensure that you are enrolled in the qualification that best meets your needs.

Kirana’s selection criteria will take into account various factors when deciding upon which students will be offered places in the program including;

  • The students’ needs and desired outcomes
  • The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course;
  • Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package;
  • Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)

Students not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.

Course Structure

A total of 20 units are required to complete this qualification; 12 Core and 8 Elective units.

CHCDIV002 Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety
