Course Requirements
To attain the Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, 15 units must be successfully completed (12 core and 3 electives elective units). Child Care Students will be required to complete and pass a Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check in the state or territory that you are planning to work in prior to work placement.

Entry Requirements
Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold either CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Kirana’s student selection process is designed to ensure that you are enrolled in the qualification that best meets your needs.
Kirana’s selection criteria will take into account various factors when deciding upon which students will be offered places in the program including;
- The students’ needs and desired outcomes
- The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course;
- Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package;
- Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)
Students not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.

Work Placement
To be assessed as competent in this qualification, students are required to undertake 280 hours of supervised work placement in a regulated child care service that caters to children aged between 0-6.
