Cert 3 Individual Support Work Placement

Gain the practical experience you need to succeed in the high-demand care sector through a structured work placement. As part of your study in Individual Support with Kirana Colleges, you will move beyond the online classroom and into a real-world care setting. This essential component of your qualification allows you to apply your person-centred care skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. No matter where you are located in Australia, work placement ensures you graduate with the confidence and hands-on competence required to support those most in need in your local community. You will be supported by teachers and our workplace coordination team to ensure your placement is a rewarding stepping stone into the healthcare workforce.

Why is work placement important?

Completing a work placement is a mandatory requirement for your qualification, but it is also the most valuable part of your learning journey. For those entering the industry across Australia, this practical experience provides:

Real-world application: Take the theory you have learned online and apply it to physical tasks, from assisting with daily living to following individualised support plans.

Professional networking: Build relationships with local employers and care providers, which often leads to direct employment opportunities upon graduation.

Skill validation: Your assessor will review your daily tasks and practical simulations, ensuring you meet the industry standards required for high-quality care.

Confidence building: Transition from a student to a professional by working in residential facilities, community centres, or home-care environments.
