International Students Rights and Responsibilities
Compliance and student policies
As an international student studying in Australia, you have rights and responsibilities.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Kirana Colleges also has rights and responsibilities.
In this section, find out about your rights and responsibilities and the laws that govern them and our refunds and complaint policies.
Regulation of courses and international education providers
Because we offer courses to international students, we are regulated by the Australian Government’s Department of Education and through the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) laws and National Code.
Under these ESOS laws, there is a range of information you have a right to know about and there are services we must offer you. Your tuition fees are also protected under ESOS.
Find out more about ESOS on the Australian Government’s International Education website.
CRICOS approved education provider
CRICOS stands for the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (Australia).
When a training provider such as Kirana Colleges wants to offer courses to overseas students, we must register for CRICOS approval via the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and provide evidence that we:
- are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- meet the requirements of the ESOS Act and the National Code.
Kirana Colleges meets those requirements and we are registered with CRICOS. Our CRICOS code is 03576B.
All the training we offer our students are Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) packages. This means that the skills and qualifications you receive studying at Kirana Colleges are accredited and recognised right across Australia.
